Hunger Games Wins Both The NH Isinglass and Flume Awards

Congratulations to author Suzanne Collins.  The Hunger Games has won two NH Readers’ Choice Awards: the Isinglass Award for readers in the 7th through 8th grades and the Flume Award for high school readers.

Get ready for reading; the 20 Isinglass Nominees have been announced.

How many of the nominees have you read? We have all but four of the books; but don’t worry, those are on order now too.  So far, I’ve only read two.  I have a lot of reading to do.

The  13 Flume Nominees for 2010-2011 have just been announced  too!

Read the 2011 Nominees So You Can VOTE in April!

I’ve spent the last several months reading these and the all the nominations from NH teens.  I worked with a group of NH YA librarians to weed your nominations list down to just 13.  I think we’ve come up with a really good list.  Several of my new favorite books are on the list.   In just a few months, we will be asking for your nominations for the 2012-2013 list. So as you read, please keep track of your favorite newly published books.

  1. What a wonderful list — truly representative of the excellent YA writing. Always helpful to see what’s considered the “cream of the crop” by the teens as well as the youth librarians. I find the list valuable for collection development as well as gift-giving for nieces, nephews and grandkids!
